Minister of Public Works Department, Himachal Pradesh visits Baru Sahib
Thakur Gulab Singh, PWD Minister of Himachal Pardesh paid his maiden visit to Baru Sahib on 21 August, 2008. He was accorded a warm welcome by the tiny-tots of Akal Academy, Dr MS Atwal (Vice-Chancellor, Eternal University) and other distinguished personalities.
Prior to visiting the campus, he paid obeisance at Darbar Sahib and was made familiar with the history of The Valley of Divine Peace. He was spellbound on seeing the immense development and activities undertaken by The Kalgidhar Trust in this far-flung remote area of Himalayas in Himachal Pardesh, where various educational institutions like senior secondary school, professional colleges like Engineering College and Nursing College have been established under Eternal University, a self-funded private university at Baru Sahib. He took keen interest in various philanthropic activities and future projects undertaken by the Trust.
He said that it was his privilege to visit this sacred place, where good human material is being produced through the moral-based modern scientific education. He assured all kinds of co-operation from the Government of Himachal Pradesh. He was blessed by Siropa by Maj. Birender Singh on his departure.
