Akal Academy – Baru Sahib finishes runners-up in CBSE hockey tournament
The hockey team of Akal Academy – Baru Sahib defeated Police DAV, Ambala, 3-0 in a lopsided encounter in the Under-14 match of CBSE North Zone-I hockey tournament held at the Shivalik Public School ground in Sector 41, Chandigarh.
The Akal Academians finished runners-up with two wins and one defeat. Three-time hockey Olympian gold-medalist Balbir Singh Senior was the chief guest and distributed the prizes.
Earlier, DR Yadava, joint secretary, CBSE regional office, Panchkula, declared the tournament open. Thirteen teams from Delhi, Punjab, Haryana and HP participated in the tournament.
