The Kalgidhar Society (The parent body of Eternal University) has a long history of serving the rural population of India. With its 121 Akal Academies, Charitable Hospital, Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Centers, Senior Citizen Home, Destitute Women Home, Orphanage (all located in rural areas), it was a natural step forward to establish Eternal University at Baru Sahib, in rural area, and carry the mission of service to humanity to the next level.
Eternal University is a world class Multi-faculty facility located in the rural and backward area of the State (Baru Sahib, District Sirmour), where there are no such higher education facilities. Eternal University is a non-profit institution of higher learning. . The Eternal University is committed to produce professionals who have balanced personalities with high character and disciplined life and who may become beacon lights of peace in the world. For this, it is essential for our students to imbibe universal moral values and the highest spiritual tenets.
As per the motto of The Kalgidhar Society, preference is given to girl-child. The underprivileged rural girls are being given a chance for higher education. Previously many girls committed suicide as their parents forced them to stay at home after high schools due to financial and security reasons. Now these rural girls are being imparted with modern scientific education virtually at their doorsteps.
At Eternal University we promote the educational aspirations and achievements of every individual. We strive to achieve the highest quality in all our activities for those who wish to benefit from Higher Education in a stimulating and welcoming environment.
The Eternal University Complex which encompasses 3 colleges at Baru Sahib is a picturesque valley of divine peace, spread over about 450 acres. Of this the constructed area exceeds 800,000 square feet and has all the modem computerized facilities including excellent class rooms (with satellite links), laboratories, library (with internet), hostels, staff residences, dairy, kitchen (for all), dining halls, solar power, laundry, bakery, printing press, book store.
It is expected that a silent socio-economic uplift reform will result out of this sure-footed grass-root effort. The footprints of ‘eradication of illiteracy &social evils’ would keep on growing and positively touch lives and fulfill needs of the rural poor & the deprived.
